The Twitter Trump takedown artist speaks. It's The Daily Crunch.

THE DAILY CRUNCH
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30 2017 By Darrell Etherington

Twitter's Trump-spoiler speaks, Snapchat gets a new look and Apple closes a gap. All that and more in The Daily Crunch for November 30, 2017.

1. This is the Twitter employee who shut down Trump (however temporarily)

A Twitter employee famously turned off the lights on Trump's Twitter account when he knew he was leaving the company. It only lasted 11 minutes, but it was a profound silence, even if brief.

Now, the employee is revealed, thanks to the detective work of TC's Tito Hamze and Ingrid Lunden. They got the exclusive first interview with the hero of the left-leaning internet, and it's a doozy.

2. Snapchat's big makeover

Snapchat launched its all-new look and feel a bit earlier than expected based on previous reports. The redesign isn't maybe as dramatic as you would've expected, but it might make it more broadly approachable as the social network looks for growth beyond its core demographic.

3. Apple patches a huge hole

Apple has released a fix for the flaw that would allow anyone to access your Mac as a root user without a password. That's good, because this was a huge bonehead bug included in High Sierra.

4. Essential founder takes a leave of absence

The founder of Essential, Andy Rubin, has left the company temporarily after The Information began investing reports that he left Google in 2014 because of HR complaints, rather than because he wanted to pursue robotics without the institutional cruft of a large organization like Google as previously stated.

5. The Boring Co. wants to connect Chicago's O'Hare and downtown

Looks like The Boring Co. wants to start making money – and without requiring that Elon Musk sell more hats. It's bidding on a job to connect Chicago's O'Hare Airport with downtown via an underground express train.

6. Google gives you an ally in the mobile data wars

Google is launching a new mobile app that will help you manage your mobile data on Android, and can even help you control usage from specific, individual apps when needed.

7. Alexa goes to work

Voice assistants as an enterprise play? Alexa seems destined for the workplace, likely with an official announcement as soon as later today.
