AT&T backs Magic Leap. It's The Daily Crunch.

Magic Leap raises even more money, an Apple employee is charged with stealing self-driving secrets and HTC's blockchain phone is coming later this year.

1. AT&T takes stake in AR company Magic Leap with exclusive distribution deal

Not only is AT&T investing money in Magic Leap, it's also signing on as the company's exclusive wireless distributor.

And soon, after all the hype, it looks like the public will finally get to try out Magic Leap's technology. The Creator edition of its first product, the Magic Leap One, is supposed to ship later this year.

2. Ex-Apple employee charged with stealing self-driving car secrets

A former Apple employee who allegedly downloaded a plan for a self-driving car circuit board and booked a flight to China was arrested at the San Jose airport on July 7th.

3. Facebook under fresh political pressure as UK watchdog calls for "ethical pause" of ad ops

That's on top of a decision by the U.K.'s Information Commissioner's Office to fine Facebook the maximum amount possible for data breaches related to the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

4. HTC's blockchain phone is real, and it's arriving later this year

5. Court victory legalizes 3D-printable gun blueprints

The fundamental (legal) question is whether making 3D models of gun components available online is covered by the free speech rights granted by the First Amendment.

6. Timehop admits that additional personal data was compromised in breach

The company first acknowledged the breach on Sunday, saying that users' names, email addresses and phone numbers had been compromised. Today it said it that additional information, including date of birth and gender, was also taken.

7. Monday.com raises $50M at a $500M valuation led by Stripes for its workplace collaboration tools

Companies can use Monday.com's modular tools and integrations to build their own productivity tracking and collaborative environments.
