Uber CEO apologizes for London "mistakes" Here's how you can tell Uber's new CEO is different from its last one – he's apologizing for stuff with very little provocation or prodding. Dara Khosrowshahi has owned up to "mistakes" following last week's announcement that London would be revoking its hired car license. The new, contrite Uber could be more compatible with cities worldwide; still, Kalanick's 'ask for neither forgiveness, nor permission' approach definitely helped the company grow to what it is today, for better or for worse. 
2. Microsoft launches new machine learning tools at Ignite Microsoft's big Ignite conference is happening now, and it's announced a whole host of new software updates and integrations. Its new machine learning tools might be among the most interesting, especially given the trajectory of the tech industry. 3. Didi invests $200 million in Chinese auto trading marketplace Chinese Uber rival Didi has made a sizable investment in RenRenChe, a peer-to-peer car trading and sales marketplace. It's an unusual place for Didi to put its money, but it sounds like this could help its drivers source new vehicles. 4.
