Using urgency to increase sales

Hey,

One common mistake I see a lot of people make is not giving their audience a reason to buy right now. People need a motivation to make a buying decision or else they'll put it off til later. 

The worst part is that "later" rarely comes. 

Life gets in the way and even if they intended to buy your product when you first emailed them about it, they might just forget. 

One of the best ways to make sure they don't wait til later to buy is to create a sense of urgency. (which I'm actually doing in this email... but more on that later on)

First, let's talk about how urgency works and how you can use it to increase sales. 

Different Types of Urgency

There are 3 different types of urgency you can use when selling online. 

1. Limited copies sold

2. Discount price for a limited time

3. Limited bonuses

The first one is hard to do with digital products like ebooks and multimedia courses. I mean, how can you have a limited number of digital products? It doesn't make sense. 

What you can do, however, is limit the number of students you take in at a time to ensure that they get more individualized help from you. This is a win-win situation. Your students get more access to you and you get to create ethical urgency to get more sales. 

The second is the most popular one. Give your audience a limited time to purchase your product at a discounted price. This is a great for product launches and holiday sales like X-mas or Black Friday. 

Lastly, you can limit the number of bonuses to the first X number of customers. If the bonuses are real good, your subscribers will move quickly to get them. 

Combining Them

Which one of these is best? It really depends on your goals, but keep in mind that you don't have to use only one of these. You can combine them into one amazing offer. 

Here's what I mean...

You can limit the number of students that will get your course, offer bonuses to fast-action buyers and have a 24 discounted sale all at the same time. The more reasons you give people to buy, the higher your sales.
